When you speak about the total cost over a life span of the each bike you never gave a dollar amount for the cost of the electric bike. You dollar amount for gas over the life span of the Nike. On the electric all you said was to expect (x) amount charging times. Electricity cost just like gas cost. Based on kilowatts in your area x amount time used to charge the battery should give a good ballpark for dollar amount used to charge the battery over its lifspan

Dude, unlike motorcycles and scooters which have fenders that don't cause problems and are one separate unit of its own (Everything comes factory built or build-on), bicycle were never made to put motorize engine on it. This is why when you add something that isn't already made, built, build-on, engineered, designed to be put on it, it is up to the builder, user or rider to take responsibility and action on that modification he or she have merged together as one unit (In other words, to solve all problems when adding and modifying something). Beside, everybody should be well aware by now that 2 stroke bicycle engine vibrate strongly and are notorious of loosen up bolts, screws, nuts, etc. I never have any fender problem but I had a couple of nuts, bolts, screws loosen and lost as well as in two different occasion, my muffler fall off and another time it nearly fall off thinks to the strong continuous vibration of the 2 stroke engine (I had four 2 stroke motorized bicycles, I'm now a happy 4 stroke motorize bike owner and rider). Just like the fender problem, bicycle wheel's can be dangerous when you add a motorize engine to it (or vice versa, lol). At some point bicycle wheel will fail, seize, lockup and the rider bicycling can't peddle no more, rear wheel halting to a stop (This have happen to me on two different occasion.) but when you add a motorize engine, the torque of that engine will cause the side cap on the rear wheel mostly, to rip out open and out comes the ball bearings shooting out of the side, rear wheel spin oddly tumbling and probably causing the rider to loose control of the bicycle (This scenario had happen to me but luckily I was going under 25 mph on my 2 stroke motorized bicycle which have a top speed of around 35 - 38 mph on a 36 teeth or tooth sprocket, manage to slow down, safely stop my motorize bicycle and made it without any accident). I now know when to avoid this from happening again. Cause when this happen, my speedometer \ odometer read over 1100 miles distance travel and when I put the bicycle and engine kit together, both components were brand new, meaning the wheels were brand new. So when my speedometer \ odometer is about to reach the 1100 miles distance travel mark, I swap the old wheels for brand new wheels and reset my speedometer \ odometer to avoid failure on the wheel's (Most often the rear wheel will fail first). Again, like I said before at some point, bicycle wheel will fail and it's up to the rider to take account, action and measures in preventing problems from happening. Not all wheel failures is going to be around the 1100 miles point because different people weigh different amount and as well as the load of the bicycle, etc., (Carrying backpack, adding accessories, etc.). So every rider should take note when their wheel fail and take the necessary action of preventing it from happening again.
